Meet Our Team
Inclusive Orkney is run by a small committee of 7. We all work in education and health for our day jobs but in our spare time we enjoy and are passionate about ensuring that Orkney is a place in which children with additional needs and their families can thrive.

Caroline Heddle (Trustee)
I have really enjoyed watching our weekend club become a relaxed and happy place where children can play and engage in a range of activities whilst the adults can have a cup of tea and hopefully relax. I am looking forward to continuing to work with others throughout Orkney to further develop the opportunities and support available for children with additional needs and their families.

Karin Spence (Trustee)
I have enjoyed watching families' confidence grow, allowing their children to try a new experience in a relaxed environment and knowing it's ok if it doesn’t go exactly to plan, understanding there is no judgement only acceptance. I am looking forward to Creating more activities and opportunities for children with additional support needs and their families to enjoy.

Shannon Tait (Trustee)
I have enjoyed the happy atmosphere at our weekend club and seeing relationships between children, parents and families grow as a result of that. I am looking forward to seeing what we can go on to achieve with an increase in volunteers.

Katrina Budge (Trustee)
I have enjoyed being part of a team which has helped create new opportunities for children and their families, from a monthly club to holiday activities. It has been great to see children enjoy these new opportunities and for families to join together and create an Inclusive Orkney community. I am looking forward to seeing the charity continue to grow and develop further. As well as helping create further opportunities for children and families with additional support needs.

Elizabeth Morris (Trustee)
I have enjoyed the privilege of working with Inclusive Orkney members, children and their families, and community supporters to grow inclusive opportunities in Orkney. Every activity and event is exciting and helps us learn more about what is important to children and families and connect in our adventure together. I am looking forward to continuing to be part of Inclusive Orkney and supporting the vision and plans we share with our children, families and supporters. It will be great to develop ideas with older children and teens to expand our offerings to these groups.

Rachael Suttie
I have enjoyed seeing children and families participate in the events and activities organised by the charity. Also, the children flourishing in the range of activities, growing in confidence. But most definitely the smiles from all participating and attending. I am looking forward to working and supporting children to successfully enjoy and participate in a wide variety of activities and watching the charity go from strength to strength. As well as looking forward to using my own skill set and expanding it through learning from the other committee members, volunteers and families.

I have enjoyed seeing children and their families welcomed into an open, supportive and relaxed space which allows them to play and chill without any judgement. It is lovely to see such a supportive group of children, parents and members who would love nothing more than to allow children to flourish. I am looking forward to seeing the charity continue to grow and thrive in our community. There’s lots to be learned from families and committee member’s surrounding additional support needs - I hope to take as much of these qualities into my own practice, so we can continue to create these crucial opportunities regularly around Orkney.
